Can we bring our own food/snacks?
Individual personal snacks are permitted, as well as food required for specific dietary needs. There is limited refrigeration and no kitchen facilities available for outside groups. Discuss with us your particular needs when you book.
Can we determine the menu?
The chef determines the menu for each meal, taking into account the dietary restrictions of those attending. The kitchen does its best to provide vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free options, and other specific needs. Some guests may need to bring specific items to supplement our menu. Groups that observe a strict vegetarian diet can request this option. We would be happy to discuss your particular needs.
During Lent we offer a non-meat option on Friday, as determined by the chef.
When are meals served?
Our regular meal schedule is: Breakfast – 8:00 am; Lunch – 12:00 pm; Dinner – 5:30 pm. There is some flexibility in the start of the meal times. Discuss your particular needs when you book.
Can we book a member of the retreat team to offer a program/presentation?
Yes, the team would be happy to offer a program to your group. Call our office to make your request. An honorarium is not required but is appreciated and is considered income for the retreat centre.
Is your facility fully accessible?
Most of the facility is on one level, although a few bedrooms require the use of stairs. We have a lift and ramp to enter the building and some accessible washrooms.
Are pets permitted?
Certified Service animals are permitted, as required by law. Please arrange this at the time of booking. We are not able to accommodate pets.
What do I bring?
Dress for the weather. Layering clothing is recommended. Some of the rooms may be cooler at times. We provide bed linens, towels and soap. Bring other toiletry items. We have a small supply of toiletries for sale if you forget something.
Some people bring a prayer journal or simple crafts they can do in the quiet, e.g. knitting, needlework.
What AV or presentation supplies are available?
Both meeting spaces have an LCD projector, mounted screen, speakers and a large whiteboard. The buildings have Wifi access. We have two portable whiteboard/flip chart boards. You will need to bring your own flip chart paper. We have limited capacity for photocopying. The cost for photocopies is: black and white— $.10/page $.15/double; colour- $.25/page $.45/double-sided
Do you permit smoking or cannabis on site?
There is no smoking or vaping permitted in any of the buildings. There are smoking areas outside. Cannabis is not permitted on the property unless it has been prescribed by a medical professional and is in a non-smoking form, e.g. cannabis oil.
